Michigan Mine Safety Training Program
Besides its many useful training programs and comprehensive safety information, this site also features computer games, clip art and a large photo gallery. Addresses both mining and construction industry.
Mine Safety & Health Administration
In addition to underground mining, this website also serves gravel pit and quarry contractors and others who use heavy equipment. Includes information on Part 46 Standard for sand and gravel operations compliance. The fatality information section features good training materials on a variety of subjects.
Pipeline Safety, Minnesota Department of Public Safety
Promoting the safe operation and maintenance of natural gas and hazardous liquid pipelines, this site includes news, advisories, training materials, policies, rules and pertinent Minnesota state statutes.
National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety
As part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, this federal agency conducts research and makes recommendations for the prevention of work-related disease and injury. Information on its site ranges from chemical hazards, injury prevention and occupational research findings. You can also use the site to order a wide range of NIOSH publications.
Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division
Covering a wide range of topics, this site is an especially good source for downloadable safety programs for confined space entry and fall protection.
Comprehensive coverage of employment issues also gives full attention to safety concerns. Includes training outline downloads and “dozens of Tailgate Topics” ranging from “Accident Investigation” to “Welding.”
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
